We run an online food parcel booking system which helps us save time and also allow professionals and vulnerable clients who have access to internet book a food parcel more conveniently.
Our food bank users are able to book their food parcel before coming to the food bank. This helps us prepare their parcel before they come and it also reduce the time they spend at the food bank. This is very useful in ensuring social distancing, safety, convenience and prompt response for both food bank pick up and doorstep delivery. The food parcel booking does not cancel the email, drop-in and telephone referral options.

Criteria for clients:

  •  Unemployed or on low-income (living on benefits alone or working part-time)
  •  No recourse to public funds
  •  In 5 week transition period into Universal Credit.
  • Homeless/sofa surfing/sleeping rough.

Initial 12 weeks period of support is available before review.

 

Note: 
  • Food bank is open only on Mondays and Thursdays 12noon – 3pm. It is available both through referral and drop-in sessions.
  • Doorstep deliveries of tinned food items and toiletries are available to individuals and families who are unable to come out to use the food bank. Reasons for their inability to come out may include financial constraint, severe health challenge, classed as high-risk during pandemic, childcare issues or any other valid reasons.
  • Doorstep deliveries of tinned food items and toiletries are available Mondays and Thursdays. Booking(s) made by 11am are delivered same day. Any booking(s) after 11am gets delivered the next delivery day.
  • Clients are entitled one food parcel delivery every 7 days for an initial period of 12 weeks before it is reviewed.
  •  Clients receiving benefit can either attach documented evidence of their benefit with their online booking or make a copy available at their first visit to the food bank or first delivery visit to their address.
  • Please note that we get donations of bread, fresh vegetables and fruits from local stores. Most of these items gets “out of date” same day of donation or next day. Acceptance of such items is completely optional to clients and the consumption is at clients’ discretion.
